Flowers die in a week and she says not to make a fuss. Both of those things are true every year, and every year the fuss gets made anyway, usually with flowers.
This is a comic book where your mum is the hero. Her real face, drawn into the story, on every page — not a caricature, and not a cartoon that sort of looks like her.
Why it works on her specifically
The two stories here are built on the two true things about mothers that cards never quite manage to say. One is about the hundreds of small invisible things she does that nobody thanks her for, made visible. The other casts her outright as a superhero, which is the joke and also the point.
Either way the gift says something specific about her, which is the thing a bouquet structurally cannot do. And it lasts: it is still on the shelf next Mother's Day, when you will need another idea anyway.

Mother's Day is not the same day everywhere — the UK and Ireland mark Mothering Sunday in March, while the US, Canada and Australia are in May — so both are listed above with their own dates. Production takes 2–7 working days because each book is made to order, then delivery is 3–8 working days in the US, 5–12 in Europe and 7–21 elsewhere. Those are estimates from our printers, not guarantees, and the dates above already assume the slow end. Earlier is safer.

That is the part this is built around, and the part most personalised comics get wrong — the face drifts after a few pages until it is somebody else's mother. Here the likeness holds from the first page to the last, and the first pages are free to read before you pay.
Whose photo do I upload?
Hers. She is the main character. If you want to be in it too, add a second face — but the story is written so that she is the one it is about.
She says she does not want anything. Is this too much?
It costs less than a decent bouquet and it does not go in the bin on the Friday. If the fuss is genuinely unwelcome, the 20-page softcover is the small version of this.
Can it go straight to her?
