Fathers are famously hard to buy for, and the reason is usually that they will not tell you what they want. So they get socks, a mug about being the world's best, or something for the shed.
This is a comic book where your dad is the hero. His real face, drawn into the story, on every page — not a caricature, and not a cartoon that vaguely resembles him.
Why it works on him specifically
The novelty-gift industry has spent decades telling dads they are the world's best via mug. The joke is worn out and everybody involved knows it. A comic makes the same point by actually doing the work: forty pages in which he is the one the story is about.
The two stories take the two honest angles. One counts up the hundreds of small things he did that nobody made a fuss of at the time. The other simply makes him a superhero, which is funnier and lands better at a table full of family.
It also survives the handover. A dad who is embarrassed by presents can put a book down and pick it up later, which is not true of a speech.

Father's Day falls on the third Sunday in June across the UK, the US, Canada and most of Europe, so unlike Mother's Day there is one date to work back from. Production takes 2–7 working days because each book is made to order, then delivery is 3–8 working days in the US, 5–12 in Europe and 7–21 elsewhere. His. He is the main character. Add a second face if you want to be in it as well, but the story is written around him.
Will he find it embarrassing?
Less than a speech. It is a book: he can read it later, on his own, and then leave it on the side where visitors find it. That is usually how this goes.
Does it work for a grandad or a stepdad?
Yes. The stories cast a father figure, not a biological relationship, and the artwork draws whoever is in the photo.
