Additional Data for Physical Product Orders (YouStudio / Merchandise)
When You place an order for a Physical Product (such as a personalized mug, framed poster, t-shirt, phone case, candle, or plush teddy bear) through YouStudio or a related Service, we collect additional information required to produce, pay for, and deliver that order. This includes:
- Recipient Information: Full name of the person who will receive the package (may be You or a third-party recipient for gift orders).
- Shipping Address: Street address, city, state or region, postal code, and country of delivery.
- Phone Number: A contact phone number is typically required by shipping carriers for delivery coordination and customs clearance.
- Billing Information: Full name and billing address associated with Your payment method (if different from the shipping address).
- Order Contents: The product(s) ordered, variant selections (size, color), quantity, order total, and the specific AI-generated design or uploaded photograph that will be printed on the product.
- Source Photograph: Any photograph You uploaded to generate the printed design (retained as described under "Data Retention" below).
- Order History: A record of past Physical Product orders associated with Your account.
- Payment Information: Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe). YouComics does not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
How We Use Physical Product Order Data:
- To process, produce, ship, and deliver Your order;
- To send You transactional communications related to the order (order confirmation, production updates, shipping notifications, tracking information, delivery confirmations, and customer-service responses);
- To handle returns, replacements, refunds, and customer support inquiries;
- To comply with tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations;
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions or content violations.
Sharing Data with Fulfillment Partners:
To produce and deliver Physical Products, we share the information necessary for fulfillment with our third-party print-on-demand and shipping partners. This is a required disclosure — without it, we cannot fulfill Your order.
- Print-on-Demand Provider: We use a third-party print-on-demand provider (currently Printify, Inc., or such other provider as we may engage from time to time) to manufacture Physical Products. We share the recipient's name, shipping address, phone number, the order's design image, and product variant details with this provider solely for the purpose of production and delivery. Printify and its sub-processors operate under their own privacy policy, available at https://printify.com/legal/privacy/.
- Shipping Carriers: Our fulfillment partners dispatch orders via major postal and courier networks (including, depending on destination, USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Royal Mail, and local postal services). These carriers receive the recipient's name, shipping address, and phone number for delivery coordination.
- Customs Authorities: For international orders, customs authorities in the destination country may receive order-contents and recipient information as required by law.
- Payment Processor: Stripe processes Physical Product payments and receives billing information as needed to authorize the transaction, in accordance with its own privacy policy.
We do not sell Your Physical Product order data to third parties, and we require our fulfillment partners to handle Your information solely for the purpose of completing Your order.
Gift Orders to Third-Party Recipients:
If You place a gift order to be shipped to a recipient other than Yourself, You confirm that You have obtained that recipient's prior consent for their name, shipping address, and phone number to be shared with YouComics and our fulfillment partners for the purpose of delivering the gift. The recipient may contact us at [email protected] to exercise any data-subject rights available to them under applicable law.
Data Retention for Physical Product Orders:
- Order records (order ID, items ordered, amounts paid, date, anonymized shipping destination) are retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax, accounting, and consumer-protection laws.
- Shipping addresses and recipient phone numbers are retained for the duration necessary to deliver the order, handle any returns/disputes, and meet legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
- Source photographs and printed design images are retained for up to 12 months after the order is delivered so that we can handle reprints, damage claims, and customer-service requests. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.
- On account deletion, we will remove Physical Product order data that is not subject to a legal retention obligation; retained order records will be pseudonymized where possible.
International Data Transfers:
Our fulfillment partners and sub-processors may be located outside of your country of residence, including in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other regions where production facilities operate. Where we transfer personal data relating to a Physical Product order across international borders, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, adequacy decisions, or equivalent mechanisms — to ensure Your data receives an adequate level of protection. You may request further information about the specific safeguards in place by contacting [email protected].
Your Rights Regarding Physical Product Order Data:
You have the same data-subject rights described above for Originals (access, rectification, deletion, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent), subject to the legal retention requirements that apply to order and tax records. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected] with the subject line "Merchandise Data Request."
Waitlist and Interest Form Data
When You sign up for a waitlist or interest form on Our Service (such as the merchandise waitlist), We collect Your email address for the purpose of notifying You about the launch of new products, services, and features. By submitting Your email through these forms, You consent to receiving promotional communications related to the specific product or service You expressed interest in, as well as other relevant YouComics updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.

We may also collect information that Your browser sends whenever You visit our Service or when You access the Service by or through a mobile device.
Tracking Technologies and Cookies
We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on Our Service and store certain information. Tracking technologies used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze Our Service. The technologies We use may include:
- Cookies or Browser Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on Your Device. You can instruct Your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, if You do not accept Cookies, You may not be able to use some parts of our Service. Unless you have adjusted Your browser setting so that it will refuse Cookies, our Service may use Cookies.
- Web Beacons. Certain sections of our Service and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of a certain section and verifying system and server integrity).
Cookies can be "Persistent" or "Session" Cookies. Persistent Cookies remain on Your personal computer or mobile device when You go offline, while Session Cookies are deleted as soon as You close Your web browser. You can learn more about cookies on TermsFeed website article.
We use both Session and Persistent Cookies for the purposes set out below:
-
Necessary / Essential Cookies
Type: Session Cookies
Administered by: Us
Purpose: These Cookies are essential to provide You with services available through the Website and to enable You to use some of its features. They help to authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user accounts. Without these Cookies, the services that You have asked for cannot be provided, and We only use these Cookies to provide You with those services.
-
Cookies Policy / Notice Acceptance Cookies
Type: Persistent Cookies
Administered by: Us
Purpose: These Cookies identify if users have accepted the use of cookies on the Website.
-
Functionality Cookies
Type: Persistent Cookies
Administered by: Us
Purpose: These Cookies allow us to remember choices You make when You use the Website, such as remembering your login details or language preference. The purpose of these Cookies is to provide You with a more personal experience and to avoid You having to re-enter your preferences every time You use the Website.
For more information about the cookies we use and your choices regarding cookies, please visit our Cookies Policy or the Cookies section of our Privacy Policy.
Live Chat (Tawk.to).
We provide an optional live-chat widget powered by Tawk.to so You can reach us with questions. The widget loads on our pages as an essential/functional service, but it does not collect a conversation unless You choose to open the chat and message us. If You start a chat, Tawk.to uses a functional cookie to keep Your conversation connected as You move between pages, and processes the information You voluntarily provide (such as Your message, name, or email if You share it) so we can respond. We use this information solely to provide support and do not use it for advertising. You can simply not open the chat if You prefer not to use it. For more detail, see Tawk.to's privacy policy.
Analytics & Session Replay (Hotjar).
We use Hotjar to analyze usage and improve UX. Hotjar records on-page interactions (e.g., clicks, scrolls, device/browser info, approximate location by IP) and may create session replays. We configure Hotjar to suppress sensitive elements (e.g., emails, numeric identifiers, and any UI that displays user-uploaded face images) so that their contents are not captured in recordings. Keystrokes in input fields are masked by default.
You can opt out of Hotjar at any time by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Opt out of analytics." We'll disable analytics for your account and set an opt-out for this browser. We retain session recordings for no longer than 12 months.
Google Analytics, Google Ads & Conversion Tracking.
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure how visitors find and use the Service and to evaluate the performance of our advertising campaigns. These services use cookies and similar identifiers to collect information about Your interactions with the Service, including pages visited, events performed (such as adding an item to cart, beginning a checkout, or completing a purchase), approximate location derived from Your IP address, device and browser information, and a randomly assigned client identifier stored in the _ga cookie. IP addresses are truncated before storage (anonymize_ip is enabled).
Where Google's advertising features (including Google signals, remarketing, and audience features) are enabled, Google may associate this visitation data with information from Your signed-in Google account — including Your Google-account identifier and any demographic, interest, or cross-device data Google holds about You — in order to deliver personalized advertising, measure ad performance, and build remarketing audiences. We may also pass a hashed version of Your email address, phone number, or name to Google as part of enhanced conversions, solely to improve attribution accuracy. We rely on Your consent (collected via our cookie banner) as the lawful basis for this processing, and You may withdraw consent at any time.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google at https://adssettings.google.com. You can also revoke our cookie consent at any time by clearing Your browser's youcomics_cookie_consent cookie or by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Opt out of analytics."
Meta Pixel (Facebook & Instagram Ads).
We use the Meta Pixel (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc., the parent of Facebook and Instagram) to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, to build remarketing audiences, and to deliver more relevant ads. The Pixel uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect information about Your interactions with the Service, including pages visited, events performed (such as PageView, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, and Purchase), approximate location derived from Your IP address, device and browser information, and a randomly assigned identifier. Where You have a Facebook or Instagram account and are signed in, Meta may associate this activity with Your Meta account in order to deliver personalized advertising, measure conversions, and build Custom Audiences and Lookalike Audiences.
Where we use Meta's Advanced Matching feature, we may pass a hashed version of Your email address, phone number, or name to Meta solely to improve attribution accuracy — never raw identifiers. We rely on Your consent (collected via our cookie banner) as the lawful basis for this processing, and You may withdraw consent at any time.
You can opt out of personalized advertising on Meta platforms in Your Facebook Ad Preferences and Instagram Privacy & Security settings. You can also revoke our cookie consent at any time by clearing Your browser's youcomics_cookie_consent cookie or by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Opt out of analytics." Meta's data practices are described in its Privacy Policy.

Analytics and Advertising: We use Google Analytics 4, Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta Pixel (Facebook & Instagram Ads), and Hotjar to understand how visitors interact with the Service and to measure the performance of our advertising. Google Analytics may associate visitation data with signed-in Google account data, and Meta may associate Pixel data with signed-in Facebook or Instagram accounts, where advertising features are enabled (see "Google Analytics, Google Ads & Conversion Tracking" and "Meta Pixel" in the Tracking Technologies section below). We rely on Your consent for these technologies, use IP anonymization where supported, and pass only hashed identifiers (never raw email or phone) as part of enhanced conversions or Advanced Matching. Learn more about how Google uses this data at this link and how Meta uses this data in its Privacy Policy.
-
For business transfers: We may use Your information to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Data held by Us about our Service users is among the assets transferred.

We may share Your personal information in the following situations:
- With Service Providers: We may share Your personal information with Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service, to contact You, and to create personalized content for Originals subscribers.
- AI Generation Providers: For Originals subscribers, we share character descriptions, reference images, and story preferences with generative AI service providers (such as OpenAI) solely to generate your personalized comic content. These providers process data according to their privacy policies and do not use your data to train public AI models without your explicit consent.
- Cloud Storage Providers: We use Supabase for secure data storage and hosting. Your uploaded images and creative data are stored on their infrastructure, where they act as a data processor under our instruction.
